Most orthodontists and some dentists offer Invisalign® to their patients. It’s a way to correct misaligned teeth discreetly, but some dentists have completed specialised training in Invisalign placement, making them the ideal choice for this specific orthodontic treatment.

Dr Brendan Quill, your Bondi Junction Invisalign dentist, completed a mini orthodontic residency and has earned special accreditation in Invisalign. He meticulously plans your Invisalign treatment, and his practice spends time on your case, ensuring that Invisalign will give you the results you’ve been looking for.

In some cases, they will recommend traditional braces if Invisalign is unsuitable. In any case, you can count on them to meticulously plan and execute your orthodontic treatment.

Planning Your Invisalign Treatment

We start with a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth, carefully considering the health and alignment of your smile. At this stage, we may recommend pretreatments like an extraction to help with overcrowding.

If you’re a candidate for Invisalign, we take digital impressions to plan your treatment carefully.

Our digital impressions (or the digital scan of your mouth) can be viewed on an in-clinic screen, allowing you and the dentist to see how your smile will look following Invisalign treatment. Dr Quill can carefully manipulate the image until you’re looking at an approximation of the final results.

If you and Dr Quill are satisfied with the results, we forward the digital impressions to the Invisalign lab to fabricate your aligners.

Even at this stage, Dr Quill is in touch with the lab and ensuring everything is coming together.

When your aligners arrive in our dental clinic, you come in to pick them up and are ready to start treatment. A team member will talk to you about how long you should wear the first aligners in the series before moving on to the next.

To ensure the best results, you should wear your aligners for approximately 22 hours daily. You’ll change them according to your dentist’s schedule or every two weeks. Additionally, it’s essential to visit the dentist periodically for Invisalign monitoring.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign may correct the following orthodontic issues:

  • Protruding teeth—overbite and other bite issues
  • Twisted, crowded, crooked, and overlapping teeth
  • Unusual or asymmetrical spacing between teeth

During treatment, Invisalign also offers unique benefits over traditional braces.

For example, there are no eating restrictions because you can remove your aligners during meals. You can also take them out briefly to brush and floss your teeth, allowing for a cleaner mouth and no wires to work around.

Additionally, Invisalign may be more comfortable than traditional braces because they are made from smooth plastic.
